National Lutheran Schools Week is January 26-30.  The theme for the week is "Standing in Christ, Serving Others."  CLS has the opportunity to serve others during NLSW by helping an organization called Phil's Friends.  Phil's Friends is an organization that provides support and comfort to people fighting cancer.  CLS will be collecting items that go into care packages that Phil's Friends sends out to cancer patients.  We will be collecting the following items during the week:

All items need to be new.  Items can be brought in anytime during the week.  · Fleece tied throw blankets for women -No bigger than 40x50 including fringe

· Rolled throw blankets for women                     Knitted hats for women

· Christian CDs- to put in teens care packages  Bandanas

· Children’s Bibles – New Testaments                Thick Fuzzy socks for women

· Children’s Christian music cds                        Thin Highlighters

  Solid colored plain baseball hats for men                  Gift Cards to Hobby Lobby

· Decks of cards for teens like Uno or Phase 10  Gift Cards to Joanne Fabrics

We will also be having special dress days during NLSW.  Students may wear jeans to school if participating in the dress days.  Regular standardized dress should be followed if not participating.

Monday- America Monday- Show your USA pride

Tuesday- Character Day- Dress as a character from the Bible, a book, TV show or movie

Wednesday- Crazy Hat and Silly Socks Day

Thursday- Pajama Day

Friday- Green/White Day

There will be special activities each day to celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week.

Wednesday- Inflatable Day

Thursday- Phil’s Friends Service Project- Making Fleece-Tied Blankets and Cards with Chapel Partners 

Friday- 8th Grade vs. Faculty/Staff Volleyball Game
