Psalm 100:2 - Serve the LORD with gladness!
Central Lutheran School teachers and students have many opportunities to serve the Lord! Last week, our junior high took time out of their schedule to go and serve off campus by holding a service day on 9/11. The 8th graders spent time at the Community Harvest Food Bank in Fort Wayne. The 7th graders spent time at the food and clothing coop at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. The 6th graders spent time with the New Haven Fire Department, thanking them for their service to our community. These are just some of the examples of how our students and classes will serve the Lord by serving others this school year. Another opportunity to serve and support a mission will be coming up on Friday, October 2. The Kenya Mission Team from Emanuel Lutheran Church has asked for our help to raise money so they can ship “One World Soccer Balls” to Kenya. These strong, indestructible soccer balls withstand the harsh conditions faced by youth living in refugee camps, disaster areas, and other disadvantaged communities. Our students will learn more about these special and amazing soccer balls in PE class that week. To support the project, students and staff may bring in $1 so that they can “dress down” on Friday, October 2. All of the money raised that day will go directly to purchasing and shipping soccer balls to Kenya.
